Would you like to help increase access to nutritious foods in your own communities? If so, please attend the Volunteer Orientation Monday September 16th, 2019 from 12-1:30pm at the Everette Hodge Community Center, 15-21 Franklin St, in Kingston. You'll learn about the many opportunities to help support and grow local initiatives to address food insecurity and improve the quality of food available to those in need in our community. Volunteer opportunities include: helping to grow, glean, process and distribute fresh produce donated by local farms; preparing after-school meals for local youth programs; picking up food from local grocery stores; stocking/organizing shelves and preparing food packages at your local food pantry; cooking and delivering meals to homebound individuals; prepping and serving meals at your local community cafe; assisting with food drives and more. The Orientation will include presentations by Family of Woodstock Inc, Angel Food East, People's Place Food Pantry, and the Farm to Food Pantry Collaborative.
