30-minute version screening of the documentary CARE.

CARE addresses the poignant and largely-hidden world on in-home elder care, revealing the deep bonds that form between paid care workers and elders while exposing the cracks in the U.S. care system. Following the showing, we will have speakers addressing the challenges of home care in the Hudson Valley for people who need care and for those who provide it.

Panel:   Kelly McMullen, Moderator

Sue Koppenhaver, CEO, Always There Home Care

Maureen White, Hamespik Choice Insurance Co.

Shelley Wagar, Director, Ulster County Office for the Aging

Maddy Miller, Case Manager, Ulster County Office for the Aging

The presentation will include information about New York Caring Majority, a movement of seniors, people with disabilities, family caregivers, and home care workers from across the state, working to make home care affordable and available to all who need it, to create the quality home care jobs we need to meet our growing demand, and to defend basic and essential programs such as Medicaid, the Older Americans Act, and the Affordable Care Act.

Light refreshments will be served.

Seating is limited! Please RSVP by January 19th.
