The YMCA of Kingston and Ulster County will be hosting the League of American Bicyclists’ “Smart Cycling” adult bike safety class next month.

The Smart Cycling curriculum is designed to develop the confidence and competence of a bicycle rider. Students will learn about choosing a bicycle, basic parts of a bike, essential equipment, as well as how to safely and comfortably ride a bike in various traffic conditions, terrain and climates. The course includes four hours of classroom instruction, which can also be done on-line at bikeed.org, and five hours of on-bike instruction.  The class is open to ages 16 and up.  Those under 18 will need a parent/guardian signature.

You can register at https://bikeleague.secure.force.com/lab_events?id=a0k1M00000CM0YXQA1

This class is a prerequisite to the League’s Cycling Instructor Certification Seminar.
